A leucistic Psilocybe cubensis derivative of Golden Teacher, notable for its ghost-white fruiting bodies and reduced pigmentation across the cap and stipe.
§ 01Morphology
True Albino Teacher produces fruiting bodies of ghost-white to pale ivory colouration across both cap and stipe, with only faint discolouration at the cap margin or stipe base. Bruising reaction is vivid blue — often more pronounced than in the parent Golden Teacher, owing to the absence of competing pigmentation.
Despite the albino designation, spore maturation still yields a dark purple-black print; the variety is therefore leucistic (pigment-reduced) rather than truly albino (pigment-absent), which permits reliable propagation by spore.
§ 02Origin & Naming
True Albino Teacher is a leucistic phenotype isolated from Golden Teacher stocks by hobbyist cultivators during the 2000s. Multiple independent isolations circulate under the TAT designation; the phenotype is reproduced through repeated selection rather than a single genetic founder event.
The "true" qualifier distinguishes it from ordinary "Albino Teacher" stocks of varying provenance, though the distinction is observed inconsistently across vendors and community archives.

§ 03Cultivation Temperament
TAT retains much of Golden Teacher's forgiving disposition but colonises somewhat more slowly and exhibits mildly increased sensitivity to environmental extremes. Low-light fruiting is often recommended to preserve the pale colouration of mature caps; bright indirect light produces visible cream-to-tan tinting at the margin.
Flushes are typically smaller and fewer than the parent variety. Contamination resistance is comparable to Golden Teacher when standard sterile practice is observed.
§ 04Safety Profile
As with all psilocybin-containing species, True Albino Teacher carries significant contraindications. Psilocybin is a serotonergic compound and interacts with a range of medications and mental-health conditions.
⚠ Contraindications
Not suitable for individuals with personal or family history of psychotic disorders, schizophrenia, or bipolar I; those taking SSRIs, MAOIs, or lithium; pregnant or breastfeeding persons; or those with unmanaged cardiovascular conditions. Always review the full safety codex before use.
